Long Ago, Far Ago is the Christmas Story. We have 18 grandchildren and each time I hold that new sweet baby, I can’t help but think about who they are and what their impact on the world will be. Most of our impact will be small, and I think that is a blessing. I believe the greatest impact we have is on those closest to us and we have an opportunity every day to make a difference there. But Jesus Christ came uniquely as the begotten Son of God to do something personal for each of God’s children. He came to bless and save all of God’s family through His atonement, death and resurrection. He came to save. He came to heal. He came to redeem. He came to ransom. What an incomprehensible, selfless gift He has given us and now we simply have the opportunity to believe, to receive and to follow. Jesus has been the constant in my life, the reason I have not given up when things have been beyond my strength to deal with. He has given me reason to not only keep going, but to trust and to hope and be excited and joyful about the future!
“Long Ago, Far Away”, the first song we are launching, is a song I wrote this about 20 years ago. To finally be able to go as a family into a professional studio, Noisebox Studios with visionary producers: Daniel Blomberg and Dave Zimmerman, and record this song was a dream come true! My daughter Shalese (Fredericksen) put her video creating skills to work and created a fun and beautiful video to complement the message. A huge shout out of gratitude to her, her supportive husband Brett and her sweet children for letting her precious time be used to create this.
