COME THOU FOUNT OF EVERY BLESSING

What is it about this song that touches our hearts so deeply?
Maybe it’s the uplifting Celtic style melody or maybe because it resonates with our personal heartfelt prayer…
For me, I think it may be these words: “Come Thou fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace, Streams of mercy never ceasing, call for song of loudest praise! Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love… Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above.”
Each of the children’s instruments need to be tuned each time they play. When they are in tune it sounds beautiful! When they are out of tune, haha – not so much! This is such a true metaphor for life. Aren’t we all like the strings – prone to wander?
What a blessing that through Jesus Christ we are able to tune ourselves back to God. He is the Master instrument – when we are in tune with Him, we can be in perfect harmony – even in our struggles and imperfections – through His loving grace and redemption.
Thank you Brynlee, Jacey, and Kyler for working hard to learn this song of Praise so we can ponder this message with new ears and hearts.❤️

What Child is this? JESUS ❤️

This is the first trio Brynlee (8) piano, Jacey (9) violin, Kyler (10) cello played together!

“We love the message of this song and how we feel when we play it! Jesus brings us peace and hope. He loves us and we love HIM!”  ❤️

“Greensleeves”, a traditional English folk song, written in 1871 with words written by William Chatterton Dix.

Summer of 2024,  Shalese had the idea of the kids preparing a trio for Christmas of What Child Is This. It seemed ambitious! But they had all been improving so much on their instruments, and it felt like a wonderful challenge and opportunity for them. So, I wrote a simple (but challenging enough) arrangement for them for each of their instruments and they started practicing!

They worked so hard on this song… and we’ve all been blessed by it. 🙏🏻

What child is this who, laid to rest

On Mary’s lap, is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet

While the good shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King

whom shepherds guard and angels sing

Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,

the babe, the Son of Mary…

Shalese (Jacey’s mom), also had a vision of an epic soundtrack and beautiful video for this inspiring song! So the kids recorded each of their instruments in our home studio and Dave and Daniel (our awesome producers) helped build a fitting soundtrack to accompany them!

On a very cold day, the kids gave the gift of their time to play this inspiring song one more time. (and grandpas and dads moving pianos, Kylie (Brynlee’s mom) filming, moms directing, and siblings patiently waiting. 🙏🏻🥰) It’s always a team effort. ❤️

Kyler – “Jesus is the reason we have everything we have. He created everything and thought of every detail. We are so thankful for all He has done and we play for Him…”

We play for HIM.
