DON'T WAIT - Listen Here:
What are we waiting for…?
It seems like one of the greatest life lessons is patience – learning to trust and have patience in the wait.
But sometimes, if you’re like me, we wait… when we shouldn’t. We put off, to another day, blessings that are right behind the door the Savior is inviting us to open.
Covid was a poignant time for all of us, wasn’t it? I think it really brought to the forefront of our minds what matters most in life. During that time I started thinking more about my family and loved ones who were struggling in their faith. I began to feel an anxiety for those I loved.
In some of their lives, I could see so many blessings of peace and hope that could be theirs if they would “open up the door“ to Christ. This song was written as the prayer and pleadings of my heart at that time.
I hope I have enough self-awareness to know Christ likely has the same prayer for me. He sees me, He loves me, and He sees the areas of my life where I struggle, and where, instead of coming towards Him, I push away.
Sometimes, the path toward Him is as a simple as asking the questions that I’m afraid to ask… and then listening for His answer and moving forward on what I hear. 🙏🏻
My witness is that THERE IS SO MUCH MORE He wants to give us and have us experience… but we need to open the door. ❤️
When I first wrote this song, I ended the chorus with the line “before it’s too late”, but, as we decided to record, I gave that line a lot more thought. It never quite sat right with me because the truth is Christ’s Atonement is all encompassing and at whatever point in this life someone chooses Christ, their reward is the same.
But, there are still so many reasons not to wait! It’s one of life’s contraries…
We could choose to wait and postpone the blessings of peace, but the sooner we bring the Savior into our life, the sooner we can experience His light, redemption and hope! Life has so much more purpose with Him in it!! ❤️❤️❤️
I pray that as you’re waiting for those things you have done all you can do for, that you can be blessed with patience.
I also pray for ALL of us NOT to WAIT for the answers and blessings He’s waiting to give. 🙏🏻
YOU ARE LOVED,
Kimberly
