Emily Cherie Hansen (Zaresh), soprano, is gaining acclaim for her radiant tone, expressive artistry, and dynamic stage presence. A recent transplant to Utah, she made her Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre debut in 2024 as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi/Buoso’s Ghost, where her performance of O mio babbino caro was praised as “flowing with emotion and longing.”
She was later featured in Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theater’s Galaxy of Stars, earning the title of “The Sizzling Soprano” for her performance of Sempre libera from La traviata.
Previously, Emily was a Resident Artist with Opera Idaho, making her professional debut as Adina in L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti.
Additional credits include Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and Damon in Handel’s Acis and Galatea.
