How does Christ give you strength to hold on?

My 9-year-old son and I had a long wait in the doctor’s office, so I decided I would record an impromptu response to this question.  His sweet answer surprised me and was so true! (see video)

Jesus gives us strength in so many ways! This road does get long, some struggles take as much patience and trust as they do strength.

Raising a family, I knew my biggest challenge was not a temptation to wander, but it was holding on with faith through the sometimes exhausting days. For many years I had a picture on my wall of a mother with her children in an apple orchard. Below it a scripture read, “Be not weary in well doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great.” I looked at this every day!

It reminded me of the important work I was doing. All the household needs of my family, the fun and the tears, may not have looked like much from the outside…but I knew if I held on to this promise, our family would be blessed and it would prepare us for the storms ahead.

Holding on to Christ and walking the path with Him doesn’t mean an easy road. I’ve always loved the scripture “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” I hope my parents received strength from this when I was a difficult teenager. Better days were on the horizon! I’m still on that road as a mom and trusting in that wisdom.

Whatever your struggle, however long the journey has been… don’t give up! Yoke yourself with Christ and let Him strengthen you and give you comfort! Hold on! In time, you will look back in awe at how far you have come and how worth it the struggle was to get you there!

Our road is sacred… it’s our own and it’s our way home… and Christ can be with us every step of the way.

“You can hold on; you can walk tall, I’m beside you, my strength won’t let you fall. You can rely on my grace, on my word of truth and promises I’ve made. Though you feel unworthy of my  love, you are NEVER unworthy of my love.  Please… HOLD ON.”

YOU ARE LOVED,

Kimberly
